Reminder: CDTA grade period ends Sept. 12 

CDTA has agreed to a grace period through Friday, Sept. 12. Students will be allowed to ride without their activated ID swiper card during this time. Beginning Monday, Sept. 15, only eligible district students with an activated ID swiper card will be allowed to ride CDTA buses without paying the regular fare, currently $1.50.

All Falcons in grades 9-12 are invited to join us for Teen Night on Sept. 19 from 5-7 p.m. This event is free of cost. with more details!

Stellar moments in sports

It's been incredible watching our Falcons in action this fall sports season. Here are a few varsity highlights from this week:

• Our volleyball team won the Amsterdam Sc"Ram"ble Tournament on Sept. 6, beating Fonda-Fultonville in the finals 2-0! They continued their winning streak and beat Niskayuna 3-0 on Sept. 9. Come cheer them on at their next home game on Sept. 18!
• Our boys' soccer team had a thrilling game at The Nest on Sept. 9! Zubair Yunus thrilled the crowd with an Olimpico - a goal scored directly from a corner kick - to equalize the score! Final score was 1-1. from the game!
• Boys' cross country is on a roll this season! Senior Noah Bizer took first place overall with a time of 15:00 on a 2.84-mile course on Sept. 9, and the team had a three-way sweep, beating Ballston Spa, Schenectady and Columbia! 
• It was exciting to see our at the Â鶹ӰԺ High pool on Sept. 10. Maya Colman placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 6:43.68, and Sara Carroll placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:18.73.

Students & parents, join us at PTSA!

Each month, we host a Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) meeting at Â鶹ӰԺ High. We would love for students and parents/guardians to join us so they can share their ideas, input and feedback on how we can best support our school community. Our first meeting for the 2025-26 school year is Tuesday, Sept. 16 in the Â鶹ӰԺ High Library at 5:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!

Seniors, it's time to book your senior photos!

We will have sessions at Â鶹ӰԺ High available the following dates:

• Monday, December 8 – Thursday, December 11
• Monday, December 15 – Friday, December 19

to book your session. Typically, sessions are available between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Be sure to select “Capital District” as your region.

Falcon 5K & Fun Run

Get ready to run for an awesome cause! Join us for the 11th Â鶹ӰԺ Booster Club Falcon 5K and Fun Run in Washington Park on Sunday, Oct. 5. Check out this news story fore more details!

PSAT is Friday, Oct. 24

Â鶹ӰԺ will administer the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT) during the school day on Friday, Oct. 24, starting at 7:45 a.m. in the Main Gym.  Any sophomore or junior may take the test and must pre-register via this to participate. The cost is $18 per student. 

Yearbook cover design contest

We are seeking submissions for our 2025-26 yearbook cover design contest! Artwork can be digital or hand drawn and all students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate. Designs must be submitted by Sept. 30 via this .
